5 Amazing Home Remedies for Dry Skin

Dry skin is a common complaint during winters. The shining silky skin in summers will turn into dull and flaky skin during winters. Facial skin needs special nourishment during winter times. Milk

Milk is one of the cheapest and best home remedies for dry skin. It contains lactic acid which is a great exfoliator for the skin. The fats in milk restore the moisture of the skin.

Take 2-3 tablespoons of milk in a bowl, dip a cotton ball in the milk and apply it all over the face. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off with warm water. Pat dry with soft towel.

Take 2-3 tablespoons of besan along with milk and make it into a fine paste. Apply it on the dry skin and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Honey

Honey moisturizes skin as it is known as a natural humectant. It is made of pollen, nectar, and resins from flowers which contain antibacterial and anti-aging properties.

Did you know that just applying a thick layer of honey will heal dry skin? Take 3 tablespoons of pure honey and apply it on the face and leave it for 30 minutes. Wash it off with water.

Take half teaspoon of honey and 2 teaspoons of curd and mix it well. Apply it and leave it for 30 minutes. Rinse off with plain water and see the difference.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil contains vitamin E which is oil-soluble nutrient which revives the lost moisture of the facial skin. Coconut oil consists of caprylic and capric acids which have anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties and helps in preventing infections as dry skin is prone to infections. Coconut oil is one of the best home remedies if you are having extremely dry skin on face.

Wash face with a mild cleanser and warm water to unclog the pores.  Wash with cold water to close the pores. Pat dry with soft towel. Apply coconut oil on face and massage gently in circular motions. Wipe it off with a cotton ball after 15 minutes.

Take 2 tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of coconut oil. Mix it well till it forms a thick paste. Apply it on the dry skin and massage it gently for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water.

Yogurt

Yogurt is rich in mineral zinc which acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, this property of yogurt helps in preventing dryness of skin caused by the sun.

Yogurt and besan are the best ingredients to heal dry skin. Take 3 tablespoons of yogurt and 2 tablespoons of besan and mix it well. Apply this mixture on face and let it dry. Wash it off with lukewarm water and pat dry with soft towel.

Take half cup of yogurt and cooked oatmeal. Mix it well with a spoon and apply it all over the face. Let it dry for 30 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Almond oil

Almond oil is a rich source of vitamin E and it is a great lubricator for dry skin.

Apply a thin layer of almond oil all over the face and body and leave it over night. Wake up with shining skin in the morning.
